Garfield & Marks Designs is a designer and marketer of women’s clothing which is sold to smaller specialty retailers and select major retail chains under Garfield & Marks, Womyn, Plenair and Kenar labels. The company contracts with foreign suppliers for the manufacture of all of its garments.
In a partial buyout transaction in 1998, an investor group led by TGV Partners acquired 50% of the company’s equity for $15 million. Garfield & Marks was sold in September 2004 to a financial buyer, generating over $50 million of equity value.
